The Monte Carlo was a runaway hit when it was introduced as a popular-priced personal luxury coupe in 1970, sort of a bargain mini-Eldorado or Riviera, one year after Pontiac’s Grand Prix was downsized with great success. Both the GP and Monte Carlo were stretched from GM’s mid-size A-body platform.

Park MGM was conceived by partners MGM and Sydell to target a younger, well-traveled demographic seeking unique experiences and innovative design, appealing to this audience’s desire to be more social, connected and culturally aware. The Park MGM resort will keep the Monte Carlo’s European design influences, but this is a property-wide transformation of all public and guest spaces, and both new hotels will have fully redesigned guest rooms. The design will have a residential feel, combined with classically inspired European furnishings and a robust art program.
Guests are invited to use the unique onsite wellness facilites at the Carol Joy Spa Monte Carlo. There is a fully equipped fitness centre and a rooftop pool which is heated all year round, allowing guests to admire the Riviera view throughout their work-out.
The Ulams were a wealthy Polish Jewish family of bankers, industrialists, and other professionals. Ulam's immediate family was "well-to-do but hardly rich". His father, Józef Ulam, was born in Lwów and was a lawyer, and his mother, Anna (née Auerbach), was born in Stryj . His uncle, Michał Ulam, was an architect, building contractor, and lumber industrialist. From 1916 until 1918, Józef's family lived temporarily in Vienna . After they returned, Lwów became the epicenter of the Polish–Ukrainian War , during which the city experienced a Ukrainian siege .
